Concerning Paul Haggis: An Open Letter from Leah Remini and Mike Rinder

My wife Karen de la Carriere and I want to show our respect for Paul Haggis and our solidarity with Leah Remini and Mike Rinder. Therefore, we are reprinting verbatim Leah and Mike’s open letter that was posted today on Mike’s blog:

There is plenty of reason to worry about defending anyone accused of sexual assault in today’s climate. But the fear of consequences for speaking our truth has not held us back in the past and isn’t about to start now.

We have supported victims of sexual abuse who have reached out to us and have worked with them and law enforcement to ensure justice is done for both victims and the accused. We have avoided trial by media.

In this time of heightened awareness of sexual predators, it is easy to remain quiet when an injustice is being perpetrated for fear of being tarred as politically incorrect. But more important to us than being politically correct is standing up for what we believe is right.

Paul Haggis is a good man who has been a friend to us and so many others. He has championed the rights of women, the LGBT community and has fought for and devoted himself to the underprivileged in the world. These are not “PR stunts” — he has devoted his time, skill and money to worthy causes without fanfare for decades.

Like all of us, Paul Haggis is not perfect. Unlike a lot of us, he is truly a gentleman. A gentle man, with impeccable manners and a generous heart.

Like those of us who were scientologists, we trusted and confided in our church to seek resolution for our shortcomings. What is different about scientology is the detailed records they maintain of everything you tell them. And beyond that, they conduct intense interrogations based on the idea that only when all specifics and details are disclosed can one find relief. The names, dates, and minute details of any indiscretions, and even thoughts, are all recorded.

It is not a crime to be attracted to women (or men). It’s not a crime to flirt. Or to have sexual relations with someone. It might not be acceptable to your significant other (if you have one), but it certainly isn’t criminal nor worthy of newspaper headlines.

Only a scientologist can understand the pressure one feels to offer up even the slightest thing that the scientology organization might consider a transgression of THEIR mores. This information is used against anyone who departs scientology and dares speak their mind. This is not imaginary. There is a documented history of such things. When someone is a declared an “enemy” by scientology, they are fair game.

With the name of everyone one might have thought of, flirted with or taken on a date, it takes little imagination to conjure a string of accusers being contacted and suddenly appearing out of the woodwork.

We expect the next “revelations” about Paul Haggis in this campaign to destroy him to be based on information culled from his scientology files in the form of more “anonymous” accusers, hiding behind a lawyer who will never have to disclose who is paying their bill.

Those who accuse without going to law enforcement, those who seek hush money to keep their stories secret, those who make accusations to the media anonymously – they are suspect. And when the target of these tactics is someone who is a prominent critic of scientology, it is very suspect.

Paul Haggis deserves, based on his record as a gentleman and humanitarian, to be judged when all the evidence has been taken under penalty of perjury in a court of law. Because claims of anonymous accusers who have NOT gone to law enforcement are not credible.

My Reply to Scientologist Tad Reeves of STAND

Scientologist and STAND member Tad Reeves released a YouTube video today in which he claimed that Leah Remini’s show was making it so dangerous for Scientologists that he feared for the safety of his family. As Tad has blocked all comments — his video is a “one way flow” where he talks and all of us are supposed to listen — I am replying here at the Scientology Money Project.

First let me say this: Oh please! Give me a break Tad. You’re such a drama queen. Seriously. You’re running what LRH called the “Dangerous Environment Racket” where none exists. I’m not buying your act and I’ll tell you why.

The fact is that if anyone has anything to fear it is from Scientologists. Two innocent people have been murdered in cold blood by Scientologists in the last five years. Dozens of people that I personally know have been Fair Gamed, spied on, stalked, harassed, and intimidated in the past ten years. When we add in Anonymous and many others who have spoken out, the number of people Scientology has practiced Fair Game upon is well above one thousand in the past ten years. So please stop your insufferable victim game. It is truly nauseating.

2011: Scientologist and New OT VIII Rex Fowler shot and killed his business partner Thomas Ciancio at point blank range. Three shots to the head with no mercy. This was premeditated murder Tad. And a Scientology OTVIII pulled the trigger.

After murdering his business partner, OTVIII Rex Fowler turned his 9mm Glock on himself  and pulled the trigger. The bullet traversed Fowler’s sinuses and exited is forehead. Rex’s suicide attempt failed and he was convicted of first degree murder and sentenced to life in Colorado. Thomas Ciancio had a wife and children Tad.

2012: Scientologist and actor Johnny Lewis murdered his 81 year old landlady Catherine Davis here in Los Feliz where my wife Karen and I live. The 27 year old Lewis bludgeoned his elderly landlady to death and then mutilated her cat for good measure Tad. Scientologist Lewis then jumped, or fell, from the steep hillside garage of his landlady’s home in the dark. Lewis died on impact.

In 2009 Nancy Cartwright’s fiancee OTVIII Steve Brackett killed himself by jumping off the Bixby Bridge in Big Sur. Scientologists were told he died in an automobile accident. OTVIII Ed Bryan was arrested in Florida in 2011 for trespassing.

Scientologist Devon Newman, the PR for Celebrity Centre Las Vegas, was arrested in a bizarre 2013 murder plot to kill a Las Vegas cop:

I could keep going Tad, but you can read more of Scientology’s menacing behavior from article I wrote: The Church of Scientology: A rollicking legacy of belligerence, profanity, paranoia, and violence.
*****

One time when the late Jim Lynch of Freedom Magazine showed up at my home he was escorted by an armed PI. Why did Scientology’s Freedom reporter need an armed bodyguard? I had no weapons and Jim Lynch certainly had nothing to fear from me. I asked Scientology’s PI why he felt he needed a gun to come to my house. Was he planning on shooting me? I also told Jim Lynch and the PI that if David Miscavige had anything to say to me he could come to my house and say it to my face. Otherwise, I would thank David Miscavige to shut up.

And then of course OSA had two PI’s follow COB’s father Ron Miscavige Sr. for two years at a cost of $10,000 per week. When arrested, these PI’s had weapons, a silencer for an assault rifle, ammo, scanners, and fake license plates. This is what COB RTC David Miscavige spends Scientology parishioner dollars on. Is this acceptable to you Tad? Is it moral or ethical for Scientology to send out armed men to spy on and stalk former members of your Church? Here is the assault rifle and the silencer your Church’s PI’s were carrying Tad:

The pen is mightier than the sword Tad. A&E, Leah Remini, Mike Rinder,  and their guests are engaging in protected and nonviolent free speech to expose the depravity and evil of the Church of Scientology. If this acts as a wrong item for you Tad then you need to read the US Constitution. No one stopped you from making and releasing your insipid YouTube video.

And by the way, Tad, STAND has phony Stock Photo Scientologists. These “Scientologists” are stock photos. What do you have to say about this social media fraud Tad?

Alexander Jentzsch: A Scientology Tragedy in 3 Acts

Alexander Jentzsch died five years ago today on July 3, 2012. Alexander was only 27 years old. The son of Heber Jentzsch and Karen de la Carriere, Alexander died due to Scientology’s brutal policy of Disconnection.

The Church of Scientology would not allow Karen to see her dead son’s body and kiss him goodbye one last time. This cruelty is unspeakable and unforgivable.

The Scientology Money Project was one of the outcomes of Alexander’s death. Nothing can bring Alexander back, but I vowed to do whatever I could do to help expose the Church of Scientology. My goal is to work with others in order to have the IRS revoke Scientology’s 501(c)3 tax exemption revoked.

Rest in Peace dear Alexander.

1987: BBC Panorama on Scientology

In 1987 BBC Panorama broadcast an important show on Scientology that is now of great historical value. For example, this excerpt below features Don Larson, a member of Scientology’s infamous finance police.

This one hour show is presented in these five YouTube videos. What this BBC show reveals is that Transnational Corporate Scientology has always been a criminal organization and remains so today. The Xenu story is discussed in this 1987 BBC program.

Scientology Insider Dan Koon – Part 2: Ron Miscavige’s book Ruthless

Dan Koon ghost wrote Ron Miscavige Sr.’s book Ruthless. In this interview Dan discusses the writing and vetting process of the book and addresses Marty Rathbun’s criticisms of the book. Dan also shares highlights of his 27 years in the Sea Org. In the forward to his self-published book What’s Wrong with Scientology? Marty Rathbun had great things to say about Dan Koon:

Scientology Media Productions: Panhandling on the Streets of Hollywood!

757

Imagine telling the entire world you are purchasing an ultra-luxury state-of-the-art $100,000,000 private 757 business jet. As the interior of your jet is designed and built with the most opulent of appointments, you boast to the entire world and show off the spacious interior:

24bb09d700000578-0-image-a-5_1421352928450

The big day arrives as your magnificent $100,000,000 private jet is rolled out of the hangar to great applause and fanfare. However, there is only one problem: You have no money for jet fuel, pilots and crew, ramp fees, landing fees, maintenance, or any other operating costs. In other words, you are so broke that you can’t actually fly your new plane unless people donate money to you for operating expenses. And so your shiny new jet remains parked on the tarmac like a giant useless paperweight.

This, apparently, is exactly what has happened with the recently opened Scientology Media Productions (SMP) facility in Hollywood. As reported by Mike Rinder, the Church of Scientology is now claiming that it needs to raise money in order to fund productions at its $100,000,000 studio. SMP is all set to fly but, alas, has no gas money. Hence, the “Panhandling on the Streets of Hollywood” begging letter from SMP posted by Mike Rinder:

screenshot-1072

Of course, this is all nonsense and is simply more Scientology greed at work. Scientology has plenty of money to fund SMP operating expenses. The IAS could write a big fat check from its billion dollar plus cash reserves and be done with it. After all, the IAS slush fund exists, it is claimed, to advance the aims and purposes of the Scientology religion, right? Seriously, though, Scientology will never fund anything when it can take in “new money” from credulous status-happy Scientologists and hang onto its “old money.”

As Mike Rinder has pointed out many times, the Church of Scientology already has a giant state of the art television, film, and music production facility at its Gold Base in San Jacinto, California that does not operate at anywhere near capacity. It’s not like Scientology actually needs a second underutilized production facility.

Variation on a Scam: The SMP fundraising scam reminds me of the old Super Power building scam. David Miscavige gave endless excuses for years as to why he couldn’t open the Super Power Building. One of Miscavige’s lamest excuses came in 2010 when he said he needed  “1,000 more” Scientologists to join the Sea Org before he could open  the Super Power building — and this is really no different than Miscavige saying Scientology Media Productions needs operating funds before it can produce content:

Super.Power.1000

David Miscavige’s next excuse was that he needed the “Final 300” Sea Org members before he could open Super Power:

SP.300

Having failed to get all of the “Final 300” Sea Org members, David Miscavige was down to needing 110 new Sea Org members:

SP.110

There are always excuses in Scientology for why the planet cannot cleared, buildings cannot be opened, or content cannot be produced in a new $100,000,000 studio. The usual excuses are that more more money has to be raised; more Sea Org members are needed; there has to 10,000 on Solo NOTs; all Orgs must be St. Hill size; all Orgs must be Ideal, etc. It really doesn’t matter so long as an excuse is provided.

I don’t know if Flag ever recruited the 1,000 Sea Org members. What I do know is that the Super Power building remained the most profitable empty building in the world from 1998 until it opened on November 17, 2013. As Ashley Collman of the Daily Mail wrote at the time:

The group broke ground on the Mediterranean Revival-style  building in 1998, but stopped work after finishing the shell.

For three years, the group ceased construction on the project until the city started imposing $250-a-day fines for code violations.

Scientology defectors have explained that the building’s slow construction is due to church leader’s who have allegedly used the project as a fundraising cash cow.

An analysis by the Tampa Bay Times discovered that the church had raised $145million for the building, much higher than the $100million it was estimated to cost.

Who knows? David Miscavige and Scientology may need to postpone production at Scientology Media Productions indefinitely until more money is raised, more Sea Org members are recruited, or until the Commodore returns from Target 2.

To whimsically add to our excursion through one of Scientology’s Scams of the Past, former Sea Org member Aaron Saxton made a very humorous and prescient comment on ESMB during the 2010 “1,000 Sea Org are needed for Super Power!” campaign:

It just occured to me that this statement by DM [that 1,000 Sea Org members are needed for Super Power] will be sending the jitters through the SO, especially within Los Angeles.

They know they will not have a hope in hell of getting this many recruits.

So what they will do is start doing “utilization” surveys on SO members around the world. They will give CMO quotas in each continent to find people “under utilized” and send them to Flag.

Following this they will empty out their RPF’s to get crew to the FSO to get the numbers up.

A similar incident happened in 1995 when DM went nutty at the FSO and we ended up sending over 150 missionaires to FLB.

None of them bar a very select few, ever made it back. They all ended up getting posted down there.

I can see DM doing a similar thing.

It is apparent that DM is going to keep command teams in the continental liaison offices to run things directly as I think DM can see the end of IMO/HGB middle management on the horizon.

Why run things on a via when he thinks he is so great at running it directly?

1000 recruits…LOL, I would pay a dollar to see that!

Hey, should I send in my billion year contract? Perhaps they will re-hire me? I soooo want to be part of the biggest failure in Scn history. Please please please!

In related news, Scientology fundraising in now under way for the L. Ron Hubbard Hall and park in Clearwater, Florida. As gushing Scientology coverage of the recent LRH birthday celebration enthused:

There was also the momentous announcement of the future L. Ron Hubbard Hall in Clearwater, a magnificent auditorium designed to seat thousands with convention and banquet conversion capability, complemented by a beautifully-appointed L. Ron Hubbard Park.

Scientology likes to brag about its accomplishments. I have to give Scientology credit for this: It has amassed the world’s largest irrelevant and non-performing real estate portfolio ever and continues to do. We have the IRS to thank for giving this deviant and real-estate-obsessed group its wholly unmerited tax exemption.

Nancy Cartwright: Just Another Scientology Celebrity Pawn

Nancy Cartwright just did a video in which she attacked Going Clear. After watching the video, I’ve concluded that Cartwright is just another Scientology celebrity pawn who has been played to do the bidding of the Office of Special Affairs.

OSA may not have given Nancy the news: Going Clear earned seven Emmy nominations and won three Emmy’s. Going Clear also made the Oscar short list for Best Documentary. Alex Gibney won an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature for his 2007 work Taxi to the Dark Side.

In Nancy’s video she uses the same tired old PR line and tells people to find out for themselves what Scientology is by reading a book. Okay. I have met this requirement and more. I have found out for myself what Scientology really is and does and I think it is a malicious and dishonest criminal Cult. And I am hardly alone in my informed opinion.

Over the years I have read Dianetics, the Basics, and listened to the Congresses. I have also read and studied Scientology’s legal cases, IRS records, and interviewed many former top Scientology executives. I found $1.5 billion in Scientology assets listed in IRS 990-T forms filed by Scientology churches. More than ten million dollars of this money was presumably donated by Nancy Cartwright, and yet, the PR of the Church of Scientology continues to get worse. This is, apparently, why OSA needs Nancy’s face and name in another one of its failed attempts to dead agent Going Clear. Nancy Cartwright, however, is just not an OSA attack dog. She looked unnatural, forced, and uncomfortable in this attack video. If OSA needed an attack dog it should have called Kirstie Alley.

My wife Karen de la Carriere was a Class XII C/S who served onboard the Flagship Apollo and was personally trained by L. Ron Hubbard. LRH only trained seven Class XII’s and Karen was one of them. Karen knows more about Scientology than Nancy Cartwright does or ever will. My wife especially knows the sadistic side of Scientology Disconnection. When Karen’s son Alexander Jentzsch died at age 27, your Church did not have the basic human decency to tell her that her son had died. We found out through the kindness of a stranger whom, we later discovered, was former Sea Org executive Aaron Smith-Levin. He had the humanity to let us know Alexander had died — and he did so at great risk to himself when he was still in the Church. When we learned that Alexander had died, Scientology would not let Karen see her dead son’s body and kiss him goodbye one last time. Is Nancy Cartwright seriously defending this depraved Scientology conduct?

Nancy Cartwright is telling people to read a book about Scientology when she darned well knows that none of the books will ever tell the public the real truth about Scientology? For example, none of Scientology’s books will inform the public of the four unconscionable contracts Scientology uses to legally ensnare people and strip them of their legal rights.

Nancy Cartwright withholds from the public the worst parts of Scientology: Fair Game, Disconnection, sleep deprivation torture in the Sea Org, child labor, RPF, financial rape of parishioners, exploitation of Sea Org members by paying slave wages, and the Master Race and Genocide doctrines of Scientology. If Nancy Cartwright actually wanted people to truly learn about Scientology then she would have to give it to them straight: The good, the bad, and the ugly. She’s not doing herself or Scientology any favors by lying and withholding. She’s only making it worse by proving that Scientology has massive withholds on the public. Going Clear is not the problem here. Scientology is the problem.

Nancy Cartwright needs to tell the whole truth. She should talk about Xenu, volcanoes, BT’s, clusters, Marcabs and everything else that the public can’t read in Scientology’s books. She should talk about all the materials in the secret course packs in AO, Flag, and the Ship. These materials constitute the the real Scientology.

What Nancy Cartwright is saying — read a book — is dishonest and misleading because the books never describe the Real Scientology. This is why people out here in the real world write blogs, books, and make movies in order to expose what Real Scientology is actually about. Nancy and her fellow Scientology celebrities can’t talk about the real Scientology.  Like puppets dancing on strings, Scientology’s celebrities can only say and think what they’ve been ordered to say and think by the Office of the President, Celebrity Centre Int.

When it comes to The Simpsons, I enjoy Nancy Cartwright’s work and always have. When it comes to Scientology, however, I consider her to be just another Scientology pawn like Tom Cruise, Kirstie Alley, John Travolta and the rest of the Celebrity Centre pawns. Scientology invariably makes pawns out of its celebrities. These celebs do what they are ordered to do because they want to keep their OT eligibility.

Nancy Cartwright is a Scientology New OT VIII. She has reached the pinnacle of Scientology and so now what? Is her next step donating more money to Flag so she can run laps five hours a day on the torture program known as the Survival Rundown?
