Jeff Lash, one of three criminally charged defendants in US v. Gentile, Schneider, and Lash has taken a plea deal. The plea hearing is set for June 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM before Magistrate Judge Peggy Kuo:

This is a major development. With Lash having apparently proffered, everything suddenly changes for defendants David Gentile and Jeffry Schneider.
Four downstream actions seem predictable given Lash’s plea deal:
1. Lash’s plea deal reinforces Monitor Joseph Gardemal’s call for GPB Capital to be placed into receivership by the court.
2. Lash’s plea deal effectively derails David Gentile’s insane attempt to seize back control of the company using his three associates, one of whom is fellow Scientologist Matt Judkin.
3. Lash’s plea deal effectively causes GPB Capital Holdings to lose the pending civil lawsuits filed by US States Attorneys General against the firm. These civil cases by the States have been stayed pending the outcome of the US criminal trial.
4. The legal pressures on David Gentile and Jeffry Schneider increase exponentially as a plea deal would logically require Lash to testify against them at their criminal trial.

Thanks for reporting on this. Hopefully the people losing money to this setup that is under criminal and civil law actions, those people get something back of what they have invested.
I like good white collar crime reporting, and related to money funneled to Scientology which ought never funnel itself there.
This blog has always advocated for the victims by reporting on this story for many years. The victims of GPB Capital Holdings deserve justice and to get as much of their money back as possible.
Was the hearing last June or this June?
These guys are simply sociopaths just like Danny Matheson. They are just not as famous, even though the damage they have done to others may be even more widespread.
Mr. L. Ron Hubbard describes “suppressive” people as being sociopaths…. Come on, “Church” of Scientology!!
Stop encouraging these sociopaths, inflicting them upon our communities, coddling them, and then trying to protect them from the consequences of their actions!

Lash sentencing set for Oct 4. That is the criminal case. The SEC case has a hearing set for about the same time. The SEC has requested the funds be put in formal receivership which will then return whatever money can be recovered to victims. The remaining criminal charges have a trial date set for next spring if they don’t plea guilty prior to then.
