Scientology’s Use of “Copyright Weaponization” to Take Down the Channels of YouTube Creators is a Direct Attack Upon Free Speech


The Scientology Cult is engaging in a practice called “Weaponizing Copyright” in an attempt to shut down the YouTube channels of creators who livestream outside of Scientology Orgs.

This cultic attempt at censorship is a naked act of aggression as it attacks Free Speech.

This violation of public policy is yet another reason the IRS must revoke Scientology’s tax exemption.

A study published in the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology entitled Weaponizing Copyright discusses the use of copyrights to attack Free Speech. A downloadable PDF copy of the study is posted below.

On January 11, 1995, Scientology lawyer Helena Kobrin attempted to shut down the Usenet discussion group alt.religion.scientology by sending a control message instructing Usenet servers to delete the group. The issuance of the message resulted in increased public criticism of Scientology by free-speech advocates.
