As part of our ongoing investigation into GPB Capital, we are asking for your assistance in determining which of these companies may have been owned by Scientologists or are still partially owned by Scientologists. Information can be sent anonymously from a throwaway e-mail account using a VPN. We verify all information sent. Our goal is to determine the extent to which GPB Capital investor money may have been preferentially spent on Scientologist-owned companies.

We know that company #169 — Hotel Internet Services LLC–– began as a Scientologist-owned company. We covered this in our previous article on Mike Frost’s Austin Lake Technologies. One question which remains  unanswered at this point is how GPB Capital executive Mike Frost spun off from GPB, began Austin Lake Technologies, and wound up owning GPB Capital Holdings portfolio companies.

Companies #213) Riverwalk Tower LLC and #214) Riverwalk Tower Member LLC had connections to Tampa Bay Scientologist real estate owner and developer Larry Feldman.

What we know is this: At least 12% of investor money came right off the top and was used to pay excessive sales commissions to GPB Broker-Dealers and bogus hidden fees to GPB executives. GPB Capital raised $1.8 billion from investors. The immediate 12% payment in fees and commissions represents a staggering $216 million up front loss to investors.

As reported by Investment News in June 2019, GPB Capital Holdings admitted to substantial losses in its various funds:

In a blow to investors, GPB Capital on Friday reported significant losses in the value of its investment funds, which are in the form of private partnerships that invest primarily in auto dealerships and waste management businesses.

The two largest, GPB Holdings II and GPB Automotive Portfolio, have seen declines in value, respectively, of 25.4% and 39%…

GPB’s five other smaller funds reported declines in estimated value of 25% to 73%, according to GPB.

The Wolper law firm just issued a press release:

It is alleged that GPB Capital Holdings issued more than $163 million in securities in Armada Waste Management LP. Unfortunately for investors, it is alleged that the fund is now valued at just $53 million, an almost 70% reduction in value

The loss of $110 million in GPB’s New York City waste management portfolio raises the specter of the involvement of organized crime. From our perspective, there is simply no way to lose 70% unless:

• David Gentile massively and deliberately overpaid for the waste management companies.
• Organized crime and/or other bad actors plundered the companies once they were purchased by GPB.
• Both of the above occurred.
