Following Scientologist David Gentile using his connections to arrange a Presidential commutation after serving only twelve days of his seven year prison sentence, Gentile’s criminal co-defendant Jeffry Schneider was left twisting in the wind and his prison surrender date is today January 14, 2026.
Gentile’s commutation sparked national outrage and the story went viral. Nine US Senators sent President Trump a lengthy letter of protest.
Essentially arguing that life is not fair, Schneider, 57, filed a motion with the court to reduce his six-year prison sentence to time served which has been no time at all; Schneider not having surrendered to the Bureau of Prison at this writing.
The issue presented here is legally interesting because both men were convicted of multiple US Federal felonies and both were unanimously convicted by the jury in a very short time. The obvious question becomes this: Why did President Trump commute David Gentile’s sentence but not Jeffry Schneider’s? The logical deduction is that Gentile has connections and resources that Schneider does not. Therefore, it becomes a matter of employing 100% standard techniques to find those connections and resources.
Mr. Schneider’s legal team argues that his having to serve prison time creates an unjust balance in punishment as Schneider now has to serve all of the time for the crimes committed by both men:

If Jeffrey Schneider thought about it, he could probably make a deal with the Feds in which he gave them incriminating details on Gentile, GPB Capital, and others, in exchange for immunity and time served. At this point, cutting a deal appears to be Schneider’s only good option. Becoming an international fugitive is a dead end these days: The US can seize anyone from anywhere as we just saw with Maduro.
The GPB Capital rabbit hole goes so deep that the Feds, based upon our in-depth research and opinion, left a great deal of activity off the table and only prosecuted the easily proveable crimes. In the GPB case, Jeff Lash cooperated and served no time; Michael Cohen cooperated and served no time. The message here should be clear to Schneider.
Schneider has stayed out of prison so far as he had dental implants and back surgery according to court filings. Scheider is begging for house arrest until May. It is clear the felon does not want to pay for his crimes. This is why we suggest he should throw David Gentile under the bus if possible. Granted, we are cynical in this matter.
The David Gentile story is far from over. Trump’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt flagrantly lied about the reason President Trump commuted Gentile’s prison sentence when she was asked about it at a White House press conference. We would like to see Leavitt answer questions before a Senate Hearing into the matter of the Gentile commutation.

This is too complicated a situation… Why not simplify it and deport these nice fellows to Iran?
Karl: Iran does not want David Gentile or Jeffry Schneider.
