Nine US Senators Send President Trump a Letter Objecting to the Commutation of David Gentile’s Prison Sentence

There is widespread public outrage over President Trump’s commutation of David Gentile’s prison sentence. Gentile, 59, a long-time Scientologist, was sentenced to seven years for his role in defrauding 17,000 investors of $1.7 billion dollars in a Ponzi-like scheme conducted by his firm GPB Capital.

US Senators Gallego, Van Hollen, Gillibrand, Reed, Schiff, Duckworth, Masto, Blumenthal, and Welch sent Trump a signed letter protesting his outrageous commutation of this convicted criminal whose victims included thousands of senior citizens. The letter stated in part:

“Mr. President, the commutation of David Gentile’s sentence is legally indefensible, morally reprehensible, and a crushing blow to the thousands of victims whose lives he destroyed. A federal jury convicted him after a lengthy trial. A federal judge sentenced him and your own appointed prosecutor declared the sentence just. Yet after twelve days—less time than many Americans spend on vacation—you determined that justice had been sufficiently served,” the Senators wrote. “The victims of this fraud—the teachers, veterans, nurses, farmers, elderly retirees, families of disabled children, and nonprofit organizations—will not recover from this decision. They will not regain their lost savings. They will not reclaim their financial security. They will not forget that when they needed their government to stand with them against the man who stole their futures, their President chose to stand with the criminal instead.”

We expect further investigations into David Gentile and GPB Capital. These investigations could easily reach into the Church of Scientology. Over the years, this blog data-mined and mapped the GPB Capital Holdings financial connections to numerous individual Scientologists.

A formal televised Senate hearing into Gentile’s commutation is called for.

We tracked the money from Russian organized crime leader Michael Cherneya that was sent to Gentile’s various early companies through his daughters. We tracked the millions of dollars going into GPB Capital via the Cayman Islands from Brazil’s Speaker of the House Eduardo Cunha who was later convicted and imprisoned for his role in the Petrobas scandal. This money was routed through Swiss banker David Munio Suarez who was also convicted in the Petrobas scandal and served time.

  1. Senators Gallego, Van Hollen, Gillibrand, Reed, Adam Schiff, Duckworth, and Masto are all HEROES and patriots in the true senses of those words.
As for Trump and David Miscavige, I think that they have more in common than Trump would everv admit publicly.
