According to the US Bureau of Prisons inmate locator, Scientologist David Gentile, 59, is now a US Federal prison inmate at FCI Otisville. Gentile was the CEO of GPB Capital which was a Ponzi-like $1.8 billion scheme.
Following his conviction in 2024, Gentile had been free on a $5 million post-conviction release bond granted by the court on May 19, 2025.
David Gentile was sentenced to ten years, seven of which must be served. This makes his release date November, 2032.
Gentile and his convicted co-conspirator Jeffry Schneider of GPB filed at least six motions to obtain an adjournment of their sentences after both were convicted in 2024 and sentenced in 2025.
Despite a last minute flurry of motions to remain free on bail pending his appeal, or a hearing on his motion for appeal, David Gentile surrendered per court order on November 15, 2025 to begin his ten year sentence, seven of which must be served followed by three years of supervised release.
Gentile and Schneider had filed numerous motions to remain out of prison and thereby deny justice to the 15,000 victims of their fraud. The court granted both men a months-long stay to get dental implants. The Bureau of Prisons (BOP) does not offer dental implants as it considers implants cosmetic and medically unnecessary. The BOP does provide general dentistry to inmates.
That both Gentile and Schneider used the same dental implant delay strategy argues that they hired a pre-incarceration prison consultant to search for ways to avoid incarceration for as long as possible.
The dental implant strategy bought them several months of freedom. However, that time still must be served. Thus, delays in 2025 simply means their release dates will be extended further out.
The court records show that Jeffrey Schneider had back surgery and was granted an adjournment of his surrender date until January 14, 2026.
Schneider’s attorneys are asking for a May 15, 2026 surrender date. The Government opposes but has agreed to the surrender date of January 14, 2026.

I do not understand the motives of the court in being so accommodating to these two criminals. If the weapon used to rob these 15,000 people had been a gun rather than lying and deception I don’t think that the court would have been so accommodating. Many of these victims were and are senior citizens.
