Scientologist Dr. David Minkoff: Real Estate Transfers Before the Wrongful Death Lawsuit by the Estate of OT8 Whitney Mills Raises Questions

Whitney Mills 1982-2022

Whitney Mills (1982-2022) was an OT8. She attempted to take her own life on May 12, 2022 and passed away the next day as a result of injuries and a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Whitney Mills’ mother filed a wrongful death lawsuit. The Tampa Bay Times reported on the lawsuit

The mother of a Clearwater woman who died by suicide in 2022 has sued the Church of
Scientology, alleging high-ranking church members kept her daughter from seeking mental health treatment while under their supervision and failed to prevent her death.

In early 2022, Whitney Mills, a 40-year-old real estate agent and high-level Scientologist, was experiencing a mental health crisis that had landed her in the emergency room twice with insomnia, anxiety and an increased heart rate, the suit asserts.

Scientologist Dr. David Minkoff and his Lifeworks Wellness Center were named as defendants in the wrongful death lawsuit along with numerous Scientology corporations.  Minkoff was involved in the death of Lisa McPherson. As a result of his actions in McPherson’s death, Minkoff’s medical license was suspended for one year.

In December 2023, after the death of Whitney Mills, but before Mills’ estate filed its wrongful death lawsuit, David and Susan Minkoff transferred several parcels of real estate in and around Clearwater. These transfers naturally raise questions given the timing.

The Minkoff’s used an entity called Turner/Gulf Blvd, LLC. The PDF below contains copies of four of the deeds. The registered agent for Turner/Gulf Blvd LLC is Alan Gassman, the same attorney who prepared the deeds.  Gassman specializes in physician representation, estate planning, and “wealth protection planning.”

Alan Gassman sells his books at his website that show his areas of practice and specialties:
