Scientologists have to see the Scientology registrar and pay in advance before beginning their auditing on Scientology’s Bridge to Nowhere. Scientology is a pay-as-you-go cult.
One of the early and original complaints about Scientology was that it cost a small fortune to ascend L. Ron Hubbard’s “Bridge to Total Freedom.”
This is quite true as it can cost $500,000 – $1 million USD or more to reach the highest Bridge Level at OT VIII.
There are also “Non-Bridge Actions” such as the super-expensive L’s which, while they are not part of the Bridge, are heavily promoted by Scientology’s salespeople who are called “registrars” or “regges.”
As has been importantly emphasized, too many Sea Org members involved in auditing are under the age of legal consent. These minors have been human trafficked into the Sea Org. These young trafficked teenage auditors are expected to listen for hours and hours each day to adults confessing to the most vile and explicit sexual content — some of which is criminal in nature — during the sec checks and standard auditing procedures these young Sea Org auditors are ordered to deliver to line the pockets of Scientology with tax-exempt cash.
The bottom line is that even one trafficked minor working anywhere in the Sea Org is too many.
It gets worse and even more expensive: After the death of L. Ron Hubbard, the International Association of Scientologists, the unincorporated membership association of Scientologists, became a powerful component of the systematic wealth-extraction scheme created by L. Ron Hubbard and perpetuated and expanded by David Miscavige. The IAS began selling expensive statuses, i.e. the more one donates to the IAS their status and prestige in the Scientology cult increases accordingly.
The entry level IAS status is Patron Meritorious and costs $40,000. A Scientologist must have this minimum status to be considered for an “invitation” onto the OT levels. The Grant Cardone and Bob and Trish Duggan statuses are >$10 million. The Duggans have donated several hundred million to the IAS according to published reports over on Tony Ortega’s blog.
The IAS is an all-cash money grab by Scientology as no auditing, services, or courses are given in exchange for the cash. Instead, gaudy cult trophies are given in exchange. This is a win-win for the Cult as it takes a great deal of work and training to teach auditors how to audit people. And then the auditors need Case Supervisors, Directors of Processing, Examiners, folder pagers, and many other people to deliver auditing. It is much easier for the IAS to take cash and give Scientologists a pat on the head and a trophy.
Below are two price sheets from the 2007-era. After we posted the lists on xenu.net they spread across the internet. As a result, Scientology received very bad PR when the public saw the real prices. As a result, Scientology quit posting price lists in its public mailings. However, we have more recent price lists and will be publishing them in the future.
The lesson here is that everyone in this movement should post actual Scientology materials online so that the public can see what Scientology actually is and does. Scientology Price lists, OT materials, binding arbitration contracts and everything else should be posted online.

This is amazing information!!!! To think that all of the ex-/dying/OT 8/husband’s money was wasted on this crap!
As a former public, I dreaded the visit to the registrar on my way out the door after any completion. I would literally stall and wait till lunch so I could leave without having the “bad indicators” of not immediately shelling out the next few hundreds or thousands of dollars. I would bypass the reg and maybe slap down a “flow” of $10 or $20 dollars so that I could go back to work to earn more.
Sadly, it took me many years to wake up to this situation. I actually felt empathy for those registrars. I had countless appeals over the years when their stats were down. I felt obligated to them to borrow money or even mislead my spouse so that I could help them out.
