US Navy Scuttlebutt on Social Media: Anger Towards Tom Cruise’s Arrogant Behavior as He Films Top Gun 2

Tom Cruise is filming Top Gun 2 on the mighty USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), a US Nimitz class super carrier. The crew has been ordered to not look at Tom Cruise or to talk to the arrogant Scientology OT. Tom Cruise will make a fortune from Top Gun 2 pretending to be a US Navy officer and yet he shows no respect to for the men and women who serve aboard the Theodore Roosevelt.

Tom Cruise has the same arrogant behavior going on in Scientology: No one is allowed to look at him or talk to him unless he grants permission.

Scuttlebutt from the crew of the “TR” has made its way onto social media — and special thanks to my colleague Intergalactic Walrus for making today’s article possible due to his timely commenting at the Underground Bunker.

Tom Cruise is a Scientologist and obeys L. Ron Hubbard. Here is something to know about L. Ron Hubbard: Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard’s Fake Purple Hearts and Bronze Star!

On a related note we remind readers of Tom Cruise’s 2013 epic disaster in which he claimed that his job was as hard as fighting in Afghanistan. TMZ reported that Tom Cruise ridiculously claimed the following in a deposition:

Tom Cruise not only thinks he trains harder than Olympic athletes, he believes his job as a professional actor is as grueling as fighting the war in Afghanistan — this according to legal docs obtained by TMZ.
First, the Middle East — Tom says his location shoots are just like serving a tour in Afghanistan, “That’s what it feels like. And certainly on this last movie, it was brutal. It was brutal.”

NATO special operators in Afghanistan responded to Cruise’s outlandish statement with this photo. The sign reads, “Tom Cruise? We never heard of her!

  1. This is priceless! Wow he thinks he is a big being, more like big asshole! I absolutely can’t stand him. Yuk!!!!!

  2. Now I really know why I chose Gulf Breeze Florida for my final stop in my elder years. With Pensacola only minutes away across the Three Mile Bridge, and the cradle of American Aviation @ The Naval Air Station Pensacola, & The Blue Angels home base, well my time in the fake Navy Sea Org decades ago, makes all the posts about tc ring so so true. He is the perfect example right behind cob, of the falsity, arrogance and downright evilness of the Cult of Scientology. He may make more millions from Top Gun2, but honestly who really cares about such a spectacle as he is except cob & his whale enablers. Thank you Scientology Money Project. XXOOXXOO 💛💛

  3. I can’t improve on what the crew already said, but I’m ashamed to admit that I once supported that criminal organization which has a large hand in making his ego too swelled to fit on an AIRCRAFT CARRIER. Similarly, if I ever visit Clearwater again, I’ll be compelled to apologize for being one of the crew that invaded their city in ’75.

  4. I’m pasting in the same comment I made on the website where I found this story:

It’s perfectly possible and probable that the commanders in charge told the servicepeople not to talk to Tom Cruise, but I call total B.S. on the accusation that Cruise requested the troops not to talk to him.

I worked as a background extra one time with a guy who had previously worked background on Tom Cruise’s movie “American Made”, and this guy proudly showed off multiple pictures of himself and his wife with a wide-smiling Tom Cruise. (If you don’t know, background extras are the lowest on the movie set totem pole, and talking to the stars is a big no-no that can get you fired in a second.) This dude was showing the pictures to everyone. I bet he’s still showing them to strangers today.

My point is that Cruise definitely didn’t even have to give the guy the time of day, much less take even one single photo with him. For Tom Cruise to take multiple photos with this guy, and then go on to take a few more with the guy’s wife is good enough to prove to me that, whatever his other failings as a human being, Tom Cruise is exceedingly generous with his time and obliging with fan requests even while at work.

  5. 1. I don’t believe your story at all. It is so lame to post anonymously and claim, “I know a guy who….” Sorry, I need your name and the name of the guy you know or what you’re saying must be dismissed as a panicked Scientologist defending Cruise.

    2. Are you saying the crew members of the USS Theodore Roosevelt who posted these things are lying?

    3. It has been well-established by former Sea Org who worked with Tom Cruise that he is not to be looked at or spoken to when he is at Scientology facilities. This is consistent with his behavior as described by TR crew members.

    4. Pilots Alan Purwin and Carlos Berl were killed in a plane crash during the making American Made. Pilot Jimmy Lee Garland was seriously injured. The movie’s producers tried to get out of the lawsuit. Tom Cruise has said nothing.

  6. Youre tripping..if he was nice ONCE, it doesn.t mean he’s nice now….are you calling all the dudes liars?

  7. I know a big producer who worked on one of Tom’s movies. I will not mention his name. He told me that Tom Cruise had “his people” go into his office and told this producer to clean his office before Tom Cruise could go into it.

The producer’s facial expression as he told me this really told me how he felt. He told the guy no, that’s not going to happen.

Poor Tom Cruise is caught in Hubbard’s mind prison of being a big being. He exemplifies the arrogant egotism of Hubbard’s dark metaphysical evil.

  8. I Worked on the new top gun movie for a few days last year. He’s the only actor I’ve ever really wanted to work with and meet and after being on set with him…I’ll just say I have no desire to ever see another Tom movie again.

  9. Except that Hitler wasn’t nice to his dog! Anytime you see film of them together & he reaches down to pet the dog, the dog cringes, so I’m betting that monster also beat that poor dog!

  10. I’m glad I read this. That last paragraph sums up TC as well as I’ve ever heard. Perfect description.

  11. Not really, he poisoned his dog just before he and his wife committed suicide. He tested the poison on the dog first to make sure it worked.

  12. Hey can you guys take this article down? These TR sailors that posted about Tom Cruise being rude are getting in trouble for voicing their opinions and are being threatened with Non Judicial Punishment which can take away rank and money.

  13. I’m sorry, he might be a “nice guy” to his “fans”….but, maybe that’s because his fan base is almost extinct, lol!!! Any man…(and I use that term loosley with Tom’s character), who disrespects our troops on THEIR turf, well….imo, he’s givingTHE MOST DESERVING of his time, a big ‘ol “F**K YOU!”. True douche bags only practice decency when it benefits themselves in some way.

  14. Arrogant asshole! My daughter in law is on that ship protecting his self absorbed dumbass, he’s a has been, go back to your cult!!

  15. That’s great. You took a screenshot of her Facebook page and used it without her permission and now she’s in jeopardy of losing rank and money. But you know, support the troops I guess.

  16. You can’t keep your story straight.

First, it was all the TR sailors who were in trouble. Now it’s just one person.

Seems like you could possibly be connected to the Church of Scientology or Tom Cruise.

Here is a fact: If the US Navy actually did a Captain’s Mast because a sailor made a comment about Tom Cruise on social media then this deserves to be an international news story.

Please let me know what happens. I guarantee you the US Navy Command punishing a sailor over a comment about Tom Cruise would go global and viral and be a huge story. IMO, Tom Cruise would not want this to happen. However, I could be wrong.

Public posts made on social media are… public.

  17. Brian, sounds like Tom Cruise has the Ideal Org Syndrome: All spaces must be fully ideal before he can enter them. Had it been LRH instead of Cruise, the producer would have had to clean all air ducts and removed all rose-scented products from that office.

  18. I was in the Navy during the filming of the first TG. There was no “word”passed officially or not. Dude was a dick plain and simple. This is coming from someone who don’t fawn over stars but just wants to do what is needed to be done.

  19. He’s laughing all the way to the bank !!! Let’s be fair some of the movie productions he does are in dangerous locations and can sometimes feel like a tour in Afghanistan. He’s getting shot at constantly and under stress the military couldn’t possibly comprehend so you can understand why he wants his space and not to have people rushing at him!!!

  20. “Getting shot at and ensuring stress the military couldn’t possibly comprehend” I am going to assume that was sarcasm…right???

  21. I know a guy who knows a guy, blah blah blah. Dude, get off Tom’s d*ck. The guy is a pos and you’re just [colorful, humorous, and imaginative language redacted by the mod]. Gtfo with this bs.

  22. I can tell you that “rushing him” is not something any 20 something would do. And his job is like fighting in tree he middle east? Really? Does that make him better than my Vietnam Veteran dad? Fuck no.

  23. Bet we want ever watch another one of his movies let’s see how his bitch ass survives when no one pays or watching these movies he makes I will be the first one to say messing and acting that way to our military will win you a first fight ticket out of the fame world and then your ass can get a real job and actuAlly work for a living because I can promise you your job ain’t shit on our military and he should have to serve to even get to do a film on military grown but he will never be a real man take you and to your room and stay nobody give a shit nor does anyone want your autograph and don’t walk down the damn hallway if that how you feel stay your ass locked up where you need to be bet you will see will this movie comes out and that money ain’t there for you that what us fans control for your ass

  24. He may actually be right I’m in the service and they can actually charge the sailors with an article 134 for indecent conduct or indecent language if they did choose to do such and it doesnt necessarily mean it would go public ither and if the co order something to pertain to t.c as well they could also be hit with an article 92 for failure to obey an other lawful order so maybe its something to consider as well this person could be telling the truth and if that’s the case you really should consider what he said but that would also be something to have check out but considering your a civilian it would be hard for you to find such Information

  25. Lol. “Hi, I’m Tom Cruise. There are people on this ship who could kill me without thinking twice. I’m also a Big Person. By ‘Big’ I mean ‘Big’asshole’.”

  26. You’re just now learning he is a Scientology fruitcake? This has been known since the early 2000’s. Anyhow I know a few of them and granted I don’t believe the Bible and follow more to cold hard evidence.
The scientology nuts take the proverbial fruit cake for sure

  27. Yeah it’s sarcasm. He’s referring to Tom Cruise a few years back saying that his movie productions are “as hard as fighting in Afghanistan.”

  28. Actually, he is a typical Scientologist, brainwashed into thinking he is a “Super Being” when in reality he is a Total Fucking Asshole

  29. Not unbelievable how arrogant and egotistical Cruz is, shameful.

I would ask that you “edit” the picture of the military guys, they aren’t Special Forces. They may be SEALS or MARSOC Raiders, but not Special Forces. The uniform is a give away. Special Forces is an Army Unit, not a all encompassing name. You could say “Special Operations” or “SOF” when referring to them if you are unsure of exactly who they are. Please research Special Operations Command to learn about the a Special Operations units and their different missions.

  30. Someone needs to make a sign for him that says “You must be this tall to be that big a bitch”…

  31. You can’t be serious, you think that cruise is in any REAL danger while filming. I highly doubt it. For you to say that he works harder, under more stress, and in more dangerous situations than people in the armed forces just shows how ignorant you are. I recommend not talking about things that you have no experience with. The people abord the Rosevelt have a much more important job than filming for some movie. Not to mention a movie ABOUT THE NAVY. He’s abord their ship, he should show some appreciation and respect to them.

  32. The US Navy punishing sailors over Tom Cruise and Top Gun 2? That is a horrible plan. The public outrage would be huge. The movie itself would have terrible PR long before its release. The boycott would be massive.

This would make Tom’s couch-jumping look like a walk in the park.

    Anyone can write me at:

I am the owner of this blog, The Scientology Money Project. I have enormous respect for the men and women who serve and protect America.

I have been a critic of Scientology for a long time. I know Tom Cruise’s history. He has run interference for Scientology in the Clinton White House and the GW Bush White House. He is treacherous in defending the Scientology Cult.

  33. Be honest: the article (or screenshot) won’t be removed because of your appeal to incredulity (you find it hard to believe) and the fact that this article gets you traffic and makes you money. People get threatened en masse as well as singled out with proof all the time in the military. And they would be in trouble via UCMJ Article 92 (basicay violating a direct order), not because of Tom Cruise.

  34. You know, I don’t begrudge anyone their personal opinions. I’m certain everyone has their good and bad days and that reflects in the interactions we have with others. I will say this. I have had direct interactions with Mr Cruise as a professional aircraft maintainer on several occassions during his work on this current picture and I have been treated with nothing but respect and professionalism. Have I seen an intensity displayed for excellence, yes. I interpret what I believe others are condemning as attitude or arrogance to be a high level and expectation of excellence and professionalism in his work. I can respect that. Just my two cents based upon my direct personal experience. Carry on, haters gonna hate.

  35. How sad! Our whole family loved the first but we will not support the second with seeing it, renting it or buying it!!!! BOYCOTT NOW IN EFFECT!

  36. This blog is not monetized. I have never made any money on it. This blog gets plenty of traffic without Tom Cruise. For example, when I found $1.7 billion in Scientology money that was a big story.

In terms of UCMJ 92, was a direct order given by the US Navy that no one could make posts on social media about Tom Cruise and the making of Top Gun 2? Is that what you’re saying? Was an order given?

If so, we must ask who in authority in the US Navy, as alleged, ordered NJP against those who made social media posts on Tom Cruise. No evidence has been produced that this actually happened.

  37. Oh yeah sounds real my friends friends brothers cousin’s friend met Tom Cruise oh yeah sounds real my friends friends brothers cousins friend met Tom Cruise and he’s a great guy I’ll take the word of US Navy personnel thank you cute all you sailors thank you for your service you shouldn’t have to put up with shit like that

  38. I say bring back the Navy tradition of keel-hauling someone. Start with Tom Cruise. And work your way through the production cast. This shouldn’t be removed I’m glad it won’t be removed. I’ve never like Tom Cruise. And him that’s disrespecting any Soldier. Makes me even a worse piece of shit. I have almost respect for them Navy sailors. Who puts their lives on the line every day to protect my freedom. To say what a piece of shit he is. So the Navy thank you. To Tom Cruise I wish they threw you overboard

  39. The kerfuffle around Tom Cruise’s behavior is somewhat amusing, as it reflects the timeless griping that constitutes the ongoing past time of enlisted personnel everywhere, regardless of branch. What’s missing is the additional generational context of these complaints. There’s more than likely an additional level of millennial snark here, as the majority of junior enlisted ratings on the T.R. weren’t even alive when the first “Top Gun” came out, let alone consider Tom Cruise a heavy hitter in their cultural purview. Add the whole wannabe fighter pilot vibe, Scientology connection, and just basic diva-like behavior, (if true), then of course you’re going to get a social media shit-storm. The Roosevelt is in port for an extensive post-deployment refit, so the “crew” posting on FB is a subset of the ship’s actual operational crew, so it’s not like “operations” have ground to a halt because of filming. That said, carriers are cramped, and any disruption to the daily work flow, berthing arrangements, or other unnecessary interruptions, are never appreciated, especially given the complexities of ongoing maintenance and tight schedules that drive in-port repair/refits, etc.

The Navy has specific guidelines for using social media – – which are what one would expect, and mirror those in the corporate world. The main caveat is, as other posts have noted, is the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). The Online Conduct Guidelines go on to say “Sailors using social media are subject to the UCMJ at all times, even when off duty. Commenting, posting or linking to material that violates the UCMJ may result in administrative or disciplinary action. Punitive action may include Articles 88, 89, 91, 120b, 120c, 133 or 134 (General Article provisions, Contempt, Disrespect, Insubordination, Indecent Language, Communicating a threat, Solicitation to commit another Offense, and Child Pornography offenses), as well as other Articles.”

Moreover, serving military personnel do not enjoy the complete protections of the First Amendment. In 1974 the U.S. Supreme Court wrote, “While the members of the military are not excluded from the protection granted by the First Amendment, the different character of the military community and of the military mission requires a different application of those protections. The fundamental necessity for obedience, and the consequent necessity for imposition of discipline, may render permissible within the military that which would be constitutionally impermissible outside it” Parker v. Levy, 417 U.S. 733, 758 (1974). This quote from the Court sums up what is known as the “Doctrine of Military Necessity” or the military-deference doctrine.

However, unless there’s been a specific regulation or direct order regarding prohibiting commenting on Mr. Cruise’s behavior or anything else of that nature, the Navy’s going to be hard-pressed to justify censoring a sailor who is essentially offering an opinion about a civilian movie actor, rather than violating, say OpSec or the like. More so, the public relations disaster that would arise from doing so, would make such an action problematic, resulting in a “Streisand Effect”, that could call into question the use of costly Navy resources for film production, or for that matter, highlight the questionable behavior and choices of Mr. Cruise in his professional and personal life.

  40. For better or worse, a lot of actors (and other types of celebrities) are arrogant SOBs who don’t want “ordinary folk” talking to them. They can be, and often are, difficult even for their own cast/crew to work with. In many cases they cultivate being “difficult,” and sometimes the entertainment media actually portray this not only as normal, but expected, in someone who’s a true expert in “the Craft” (which is an arrogant SOB’s way of talking about the job of acting).

So I’m not sure this could be chalked up to him being a Scientologist. I mean, sure, maybe it figures in somewhere, but maybe he’d be raging d0bag even if he weren’t OT.
